FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What type of golf ball cannons do you provide?

There are primarily two distinct kinds of cannons/guns that are used to propel a golf ball. One uses compressed air while the other uses gun powder.

Compressed air cannons are preferred for several reasons. First, they are quiet. Unlike the gun powder guns which can be loud and disturb those living close to the golf course, compressed air cannons are noticeably quiet. Additionally, compressed air cannons provide minimal kickback when compared to gun powdered fueled guns.

Because our cannons are powered by compressed air, we can adjust the distance a golf ball will travel so we can use the cannons on any length hole.

What are your typical set up requirements?

We like to arrive one hour prior to your event so we can setup and dial in the cannon’s distance based on length of hole, wind direction and other conditions.

We typically request a volunteer from the tournament to help with the operation and enjoyment of the golf ball cannon hole.

Is the cannon safe?

Our cannons use compressed air to propel the golf ball. The cannons are like those you see at professional sporting events that launch tee shirts into the stands.

Our staff members are trained in the use and safety of the cannons. Each player shooting the cannon will be side-by-side with one of our staff members. Our staff helps with the aiming and safety of the cannon.

Are you insured?

We carry complete liability insurance and are pleased to report that we have never had a reason to use it.

How much money should we expect to raise using Links Launcher at our event?
There are many variables that will impact the amount of money you will raise. The number of players in your event plays a role. Do you use the Cannon Hole as a tournament sponsorship hole? It’s not uncommon for an event to put a $2,000 to $3,500 sponsorship level on the cannon hole. Many events will place a donation amount for each player who shoots the cannon. Our most recent events have seen the Cannon Hole raise anywhere from $1,400 to just over $5,000, when selling a sponsorship and collecting per player donations.
Do most golf courses allow Links Launcher cannons at their venue?

That’s the beauty of using a compressed air device that produces zero kickback and negligible sound, the golf courses love it.

Prior to each event, we meet with golf course representatives to explain what we will be doing and together we select the best hole to utilize as the Cannon Hole.

How is the Cannon Hole incorporated into a typical event?

The only thing that limits adding a new level of fun to your event is our combined imagination.

A typical Cannon Hole would allow each member of the team to tee off using the cannon. The team will choose the best shot. With most tournaments using a two-putt maximum rule, if someone were to drive a par four using the cannon, they would be putting for an eagle on the hole.

Are golf ball cannons all you do?

While the cannons are our featured on-course entertainment, we also have other games available, like our 10' tall inflatable dart board where players chip Velcro golf balls to earn points and prizes. We also can provide hole-in-one services and packages for any sized event.
